Loggias and windows,
Lighthouse in winter lagoon
Over gondola mist is dwelling,
In the distance cat eyes shining
Piers under water stick out noses,
Heavy wagons on wet streets making noises

Poets create and lay down verses
Shaping words and seeking muses
Chants and dances, It’s mystery time
Glorious Venice, how nicely it shines!

The chambers witness burned out flame,
Wax has fragmented like porcelain
And orchestra plays on and on,
To call all the masks to the ball
The long awaited company has come:
Bunch of nebs and jack-o´-lantern

Carnival of Venice, Italy.
This time of amusement is world-famous for its elaborate masks since 14. century. Along with the architecture, the masks give the place a unique, mysterious atmosphere.
Especially in the evening, Venice comes to life with theatre performances and concerts. The halls of pompous palaces are filled with parties and masquerade balls. Noisy musicians, beautiful women, are carnival domains.
Carnival have become a place for lovers from all around world.
